Background

Google Play hired Context Partners to research and share insights about how people connect over apps and games, and what developers can do to encourage and leverage those connections.

Approach

Working with three partner developers, we interviewed mobile users and ran a body of remote qualitative research. We then tested and co-designed our insights with our partners.

My role

On this project I was heavily involved in every stage, including writing and presenting the final presentation in Berlin; working with an illustrator, printer, and deck designer to bring our insights to life; interviewing users and developers; creating a light taxonomy for our team to tag observational data in a consistent way; creating a screener and dscout mission for remote qualitative research; and presenting run-throughs of the presentation to a variety of stakeholders.

Results

The talk shown below, delivered in Berlin and San Francisco at Google Playtime. The success of this project led to an ongoing content production relationship with Google Play.

Highlight

Collaborating with the fabulous Rick Pinchera on a series of unfolding images to illustrate apps and games bridging the gap between individuals and communities.
